How to Fix a Dead Pixel on LCD

1st method:
Flashing different colors rapidly:

Run the Applet from JSScreenfix.com

  • The JScreenFix Java applet helps fix stuck pixels and image persistence on LCD screens and reduces burn-in on plasma screens. The applet runs safely inside a web browser, does not require installation and works with Windows, Linux and Mac computers.
  • JScreenFix repairs most stuck pixels in under 20 minutes, and mild screen burn-in within 12 hours.
  • NOTE: Do not run more than 12 hours, it will create more struck pixels instead!!!

2nd method:

Applying pressure to pixel:

  1. Place a damp (not wet!) paper towel over the monitor.
  2. Place your stylus or blunt pencil tip on the paper towel on the stuck pixel
  3. Turn off the monitor
  4. Apply a small amount of pressure
  5. Wait two seconds and then turn your monitor back on.
  6. Your stuck pixel should be fixed!
  7. If it is not, try repeating but this time, apply a little more pressure.

  • This method works because a stuck pixel is a pixel in which the liquid in the liquid crystal has not or not completely spread to this pixel. The backlight uses this liquid and lets different amounts of light through. This affects the color of the pixel. The pressure helps the liquid in the liquid crystal move around.
